Biography:
Tara Kelso is an American playwright, actress, and choreographer. For many years, Tara performed around the Denver and Boulder metro areas. In 2018, Tara received a Henry Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play for her role as #8 in BETC's production of The Wolves. The production also received a Henry Award nomination for Outstanding Ensemble Performance.
Tara has performed onstage and worked with Boulder’s award-winning theatre company, The Catamounts, in collaboration with Denver’s leading innovator in dance theatre, Control Group Productions where she contrived the role of Persephone in the original outdoor immersive show, RAUSH.
Additionally, she’s performed with Aurora Fox Arts Center, Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre and Curious New Voices Festival (Curious Theatre Company). Tara has danced in a Hip-Hop/contemporary Jazz dance show with Denver PrideFest’s official dance company: Dance is Love. She also worked with Pilobolus dancer, Nile H. Russel on the original piece: Triangle.
Tara delights in the process of creating theatre with other artists. She is excited to become immersed in the city’s vibrant theatre and film communities.
